The Parish Council of Newlands


Would you like to serve your community by becoming a Parish Councillor?  

Following an uncontested election in May 2019, there is one vacancy on the Parish Council which will be filled by co-option at a Council meeting on Thursday 12 September 2019 commencing at 7.30 pm at the Wellington Vale, Darnel Road, Waterlooville.

If you are interested in being co-opted, you should send your name, address and a short written resume of your background and interests, [including why you would like to be a Parish Councillor] to the Clerk to the Council.

Qualifications to be a Parish Councillor

If you are a Commonwealth citizen (which includes a British subject), 18 years or over and an elector who has, during the whole of the twelve months before the day on which you are nominated as a candidate, (i) resided in the locality OR (ii) within three miles of it OR (iii) occupied (as owner or tenant) any land or premises therein OR (iv) had his/her principal or only place of work there.
